Emily Dix Thomas teaches cello privately in Providence RI, and is an active substitute teacher at Community Music Works. She values experimentation and play in learning spaces. As an educator she strives to help students build a sustainable and positive relationship to music, and tailors her teaching method and curriculum to meet the needs and desires of the student. Emily's unique experience as both a cellist and past yoga instructor has led her to center physical ease in cello technique, as this leads to more confident and comfortable musicality.

Emily is currently accepting new students, of all ages and at all levels, for private lessons. Lessons take place in a private studio space on the West Side of Providence, Rhode Island.
